The powerhouse of talent Huma Qureshi turns 30 today. The beautiful actress made her Bollywood debut with Anurag Kashyap’s film ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. 1- Gangs of Wasseypur:
Her bollywood debut gave her overnight popularity and success. Her bold avatar opposite Nawazzudin Siddiqui was unparalleled. Even the critics were much impressed with her speculated performance. She also earned her Best Female Debut and Best Supporting Actress nominations at several award ceremonies.
2- Badlapur:
Huma excelled the challenging role of a prostitute in crime thriller Badlapur opposite Nawazzudin Siddiqui and Varun Dhawan. This time again she rocked on the silver screen. received the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress nomination too. There were times in the film, when she overshadowed the lead roles.
3- Ek Thi Dayan:
Supernatural thriller Ek Thi Daayan starred Emraan Hashmi, Konkona Sensharma and Kalki Koechlin. Huma played the character of a witch. This one again a completely different and challenging role.
4- Dedh Ishqiya:
She shared the screen with leading stars Madhuri Dixit and Naseerundin Shah in ‘Dedh Ishqiya’. She played the role of a confidante to Begum Para, played by Madhuri. The role was very special to her. Huma shared, “I am happy that my character of Munia won so much praise. It is a role close to my heart and a deliciously complicated character. I had jitters before the release.”
5- Jolly LLB:
This was her latest release opposite Akshay Kumar in which she played the role of a badass wife. And which made us recall few instances of ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ too. Her perfect dialogue delivery won our hearts.
