Aamir’s ‘Secret Superstar’ will inspire you to pursue your dreams; watch trailer
Here we have the trailer of Aamir Khan and Zaira Wasim’s much awaited film Secret Superstar. Much awaited in a way that Aamir Khan and Zaira are coming together for the second time after Dangal and Aamir Khan’s look for the film is also unique.
Shakti Kumar, played by Aamir Khan, is a music director in the film, seems to be a blunt one. Zaira, who aspires to become India’s best singer, is watching Shakti presenting the best singer award. Zaira is playing a school student in the film, who has her long cherished dream.
Zaira’s mother also wants her to be the best singer of the country and supports her in her dream, but her father is against the idea. It is shown that Zaira has a nasty dad in the film. He even breaks her guitar after learning about her dreams.
“Both Dangal and this film are based on the same topic… That we look differently at our daughters. And probably we aren’t able to give the same treatment to our daughters as our sons. So, Secret Superstar is another film based on empowerment of the girl child,” Aamir said here when questioned regarding the message that the new flick, Secret Superstar holds for the humanity.
Zaira’s dream of becoming a singer is incomplete until she meets Shakti. He tells her that no one can stop a talented child from fulfilling their aspirations. He advices her ti to take an alternative way to show her talent to the world, and she agrees to the idea.
And there comes the time, when a burkha, a guitar and a You Tube channel help her Zaira to become a an Internet sensation is no time. Henceforth, she lives her dreams like this.
Earlier, Zaira has played the younger version of wrestler Geeta Phogat in blockbuster hit film Dangal, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Aamir donned the hat of legendary Haryanvi wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat. Zaira also bagged the National Award for Best Supporting Actress for Dangal.
Coming back to Secret Superstar, the film has been helmed by Advait Chandan and is produced by Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao.
