Alia Bhatt Took One Year To Star Opposite Shahid In This Film
Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt has shared screen space twice for Shandaar and Udta Punjab. While Shandaar proved to be a box-office dud but Udta Punjab became a blockbuster hit.
The duo share a great rapport and it was Shahid who insisted Alia to come on board for Udta Punjab. Sasha felt Alia was a perfect actress who can nail this role.
Alia also made Shahid wait for almost a year to give a nod to the film and it was Shahid who happily waited for his co-star. At that time, the actress was shooting for her films back-to-back, but Shahid gave her as much time as she needed and persisted she came on board.
Alia who won several awards for Udta Punjab said, “It was one of the toughest roles of my career.”
Alia was last seen in Badrinath Ki Dulhania and is currently on a break before she starts shooting for her next. Shahid was last seen in Rangoon and the actor is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmavati. The movie also stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.
