Our current government is too sentimental about cows. Situation is such that cow safety is more important than women safety these days. And now, when the cows are harmed, people are punished who are responsible. After few cases in Uttar Pradesh, one case has surfaced from Chhatisgarh where a cow shelter became a death trap for cows.
It is reported that about 200 cows starved to death at a government aided gaushala in Rajpur’s Durg district.
The cows were not given any fodder or water for about 48 hours. And the person responsible for these deaths is the BJP leader Harish Verma, who is the moderator of that cow shelter. Rajpur residents and state officials are blaming him for this mishappening.
Harish is the vice-president in Jamul Municipality and is now arrested for this carelessness. He has been booked under the sections 4 and 6 Chattisgarh Agricultural Cattle Prreservation Act, 2004, under section 11 of Prevention of cruelty to animals act 1960 and other charges of IPC.
However, the accused denies any such carelessness.
But it is speculated that the cows were buried in many trenches in order to cover up this tragic incident. The residents of area found those trenches with 10-15 cows buried in each of them.
Sarpanch of the area alleged that he found many trenches being dug to bury the dead cows lying around. This made him feel suspicious.
