Distributors ask SRK to refund loss of ‘JHMS’. Will he follow Salman’s foot-steps?

Bollywood industry is undergoing a dark phase with big films getting flop on box office and making the audience disappointed. Initially, the much hyped ‘Tubelight’ of Salman Khan flopped followed by Ranbir Kapoor’s Jagga Jasoos’. The distributors and exhibitors made huge losses because of this. Salman even paid back for the loss.
While for Jaggas Jasoos, the blame game started when Rishi Kapoor blamed Anurag Basu for the film being a flop. To this, Ranbir did not agreed with father, but stood by the film makers only.
And then came Shahrukh and Imtiaz Ali’s project ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal.’ Th film was heavily promoted across the nation and beyond boundaries too. Leave about being a blockbuster, the film did not even recover the minimum amount expected. The performance of Jab Harry Met Sejal at the box office has been so disastrous that even the distributors who bought the rights of the film at lower prices lost a big chunk of their investment.]
Therefore, they have now talked to Shahrukh and asked him to refund the loss. They have asked for a refund for the backbreaking losses since Shah Rukh Khan had made good profits from the pre-sale of All India Rights to NH Studioz, satellite, music and digital rights.
The biggest loss maker is NH Studioz. It had acquired the all India rights of Tubelight for Rs. 132 crores and Jab Harry Met Sejal for Rs. 80 crores.
SRK had earlier compensated distributors of his 2015 film Dilwale as the film was a flop. He had refunded about Rs 25 crore which was 50% of the total loss to distributors of the film.
Earlier in 2001 and 2005, he had refunded the loss of his films Ashoka and Paheli.
Shahrukh is not bound in any agreement to refund the money, but the distributors are hoping that he will follow Salman’s footsteps and would help them out to recover such huge loss.
