We don’t need to give any introduction to this legendary singer and actor. Kishore Kumar was and is still one of the well-known personalities of Indian Cinema. He may not be with us today but the singer has always been in our hearts.

- Kishore Kumar’s real name was Abhas Kumar Ganguly.
- It is said the inspiration behind the song Paanch Rupaiya Barah Aana from Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi was the Rs. 5.75 he owed to the canteen of his college in Indore. Hats off to his imagination!
- Kishore Da’s first song was Marne Ki Duayen Kyon Mangu for the film Ziddi.
- He sang in a number of languages apart from Hindi which include Bengali, Marathi, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Bhojpuri, Malayalam and Oriya.
- Kumar never had a formal training in singing! Well, that’s quite surprising.
- Kishore holds the record for winning the most Filmfare Awards. He bagged eight Filmfare trophies for Best Male Playback Singer.
