Inspite Of Having So Many Love Affairs Madhubala Life Ends On A Tragic Note
Madhubala is one of the iconic actresses who worked in some of the classic movies of Indian Cinema. The actress might have gained lots of success in her professional life but her personal life was never that happening. She was known for having strings of affairs with her co-stars, directors and producers.
Madhubala was in a relationship with many but her love life was a tragic one as all her relationships ended on a bad note. This eventually left her all alone till her last breath.
Born and brought up in a conservative family, Madhubala’s father Attaullah Khan always restricted her from mingling with men. But the actress did not pay any heed to her father and fell in love with over six men in her life.
Let’s take a look at Madhubala’s love life.
The actress fell in love with her neighbour Lateef who was an IAS officer. She proposed him and gave him a red rose. Lateef accepted Madhubala’s proposal and kept that rose in his book for over 30 years. Later, kept that rose of Madhubala’s grave. He kept visiting her grave on every death anniversary of Madhubala. This proved that his truly love her for the rest of her life.
Madhubala got her first break in director Kedar Sharma’s movie. He fell in love with Madhubala during her screen test, however, she couldn’t understand his love. It was one sided love but the actress always respected him but never accepted his love.
Madhubala’s Mahal release in 1949 which proved to be a box-office hit. It was a turning point of Madhubala’s career and she became a star overnight. Kamal Amrohi and Madhubala met on the sets of Mahal and feel in love. Her father wanted them to get married but Kamal was already married. Madhubala insisted Kamal to divorce his wife and marry her but Kamal didn’t do that and their relationship ended on a bad note.
Very few people might be knowing that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto used to juggle between India and Pakistan on frequent basis. He had his own manison called My Nest in Mumbai. He used to frequently visit on the sets of Mugha-E-Azam just to catch a glimpse of Madhubala. Madhubala too started liking him but Bhutto was in no mood to settle down with her as he was already living with two wives.
Madhubala fell in love with Dilip Kumar when she was just 17 and the duo also gave several hit films. Madhubala’s dad had given them the permission to meet only on the sets of the film. Their relationship ended when Madhubala’s dad refused to send her for the shooting of Naya Daur in Bhopal. B. R Chopra dragged him to the court for this. Dilip stood up against Madhubala in the court which eventually ended their relation.
Premnath feel in love with Madhubala while shooting for Badal. He proposed her with a red rose and Madhubala accepted it. But she started avoiding Premnath after few days maybe she was still in love with Dilip. One day, Akshok Kumar told Premnath that Madhubala had proposed him. This didn’t go well with Premnath and things ended.
After having series of affair, Madhubala finally got married to Kishore Kumar in 1960. She was at her peak of her career when she got married, while Kishore was going through financial crisis. He thought Madhubala would help him get out of his trouble. However, things did not work out due to her deteriorating health. Kishore tasted success with Aaradhana’s song Mere Sapnon Ki Raani and then there was no looking back. But their marriage had hit the rock bottom till then.
Madhubala’s health worsened and it was incurable. Some close relatives and friends were around her during her last days. The actress took her last breath on 23rd February after prolonged illness at the age of 36.
Madhubala was never lucky in finding true love throughout her life and died all alone survived by none of her exes.
