Meet the proud Indian women cricketers, Know more about them!!

ICC women’s world cup got over few weeks back, but no one is able to forget the brave fight put up by our girls.Lets know more about our brave and proud girls:


  1-  Mithali Raj:

Indian women’s team captain ,leading ODI run scorer,proud girl of the nation. Mithali Raj born in the state of Rajasthan started playing cricket at the age of 10.At,the age of 17 she was capable enough to get selected in Indian national team.Mithali Raj pursued eight years of music career,she quit it and joined Indian team as she wanted to do something for her nation.She currently stays in Hyderabad city with her family.


 2-  Harmanpreet Kaur:

The name is enough to define these proud lady from Punjab. She is Inspired by the Indian cricket legend Virender Sehwag. She works on the same policy like her inspiration,when you have the bat send the ball behind the boundary ropes.Daughter of former basketball and volleyball player.She started playing cricket in her early age.She has been offered a reputed government job designation in Punjab police.


2- Smrithi Mandhana:

She made the entire nation pround as well as amchi ‘Mumbai’.She was born and brought up in a family with sports background.Her father and brother both were into cricket.She considers her brother as her inspiration and what she is today in cricket world.Her family was always supportive when it was related to her sports life.Brother turned mentor to her,mother turned dietian to her,father turned manager to her.


3- Veda Krishnamurthy:

This aggressive Indian women batsmen even holds a double black belt.This gem was born in the state of karnataka.She is the youngest among all of her siblings.She debuted in the national team in the year 2011.She saw ups and downs in her cricketing career.In 2015,she was demoted to b-grade player list.Her family moved to Bengluru so that she can pursue her career in better way.


5- Vanitha Vellaswamy:

She is opening batsmen of the national women’s cricket team.Her parents wanted her to make a better career in academics.But,her destiny wanted her to chase her dreams .At the age of 18 ,she was sure that she going to make future in cricket.


6- Jhulan Goswami:

She is considered one of the finest all rounder all over the world.She was born in a middle class family in west bengal.Just like veda ,even jhulan parents wanted her to do something in academics.’koshish karne walo ki haar nahi hoti’ Jhulan never gave up on her dreams.Inspite of no permission from parents she pursued training in cricket.She is fond of reading and bollywood.


7- Punam Raut:

The ‘tomboy’ of the women’s team.From childhood she was very much interested in cricket.She used to play gully cricket with boys during her childhood.She play as a spinner in the team.Her dad gave her the title of ‘tomboy’ to her.


8- Deepti Sharma:

This unique player was born in the state of Uttar Pradesh.She bowls right hand spin but bats left handed.She is youngest among all of her seven siblings.Being a spinner, she adores Ravichandran Ashwin in cricket world.She followed her brother and father and used wait for them to accompany her during traning sessions.


9- Shikha Pandey:

She was born in Uttar pradesh but grew up in goa.She holds a degree in electronics and electrical engineering.In early days she was studious type of girl not much into sports.Later ,she joined Indian Air Force in the year 2011.Her father was the reason of her being attracted towards these sport.She holds all-rounder position in the team.She credit’s her systematic life style and high moral to Air Force.


10- Thirush Kamini:

Her achivements are countless.Thirush kamini batswoman was born in chennai.At very samll age of childhood, she started playing cricket at the age of just six! Her father is coach to her.She participated in various cricket tournaments.She was part of u-16,senior state,u-21 team.She is only female player to win three times player of the year award.
