Week 32 in review: Galaxy S8 discounted, iPhone 8 and Pixel 2 leaks
In a week dominated by the usual battery of rumors and leaks, a different type of article gathered the most interest. The Samsung Galaxy S8 was discounted on Wednesday and you could snatch one for a cent short of $540. Well, 2,125 people did, but Samsung has since run out of units it’s willing to sell at this bargain price.
A prototype unit of the Pixel 2 was the star of a leak and renders gave us an idea of potential color schemes for Google’s next smartphone. An abundance of iPhone 8 photos and videos kept us occupied, and you entertained, while a live Nokia 8 was spotted out in the wild and duly photographed.
Naturally, a set of renders of the Galaxy Note8 had to appear this week too, as well as any other week, in this instance with 8 possible color options. More importantly, a live unit also cropped up and someone was there to take pictures.
The LG V30 was revealed ahead of schedule in a video that wasn’t supposed to be made public, strictly speaking. A couple of days later LG announced that the phablet will feature a fancy new lens with a wide f/1.6 aperture. There was Sony news too – the Xperia XZ1 visited GFXBench and didn’t go unnoticed, and then posed for pictures the next day.

The front screen lacks a home button and there is no fingerprint scanner on the back so rumors are starting to contradict.
A box full of iPhones with a Foxconn label on it, these could be the first units to come off the production line.
The source of this report previously claimed the near-bezelless iPhone 8 would arrive later than the 7s duo.
If this is an accurate representation of the upcoming device, it will definitely turn heads when it launches, just like its predecessor.
The phone will be first available in India starting August 18 and it will be an Amazon-exclusive there.
The Chinese company is rumored to launch its next flagship phablet less than 12 months after its predecessor.
The second handset could very well be the XZ1 Compact, which the company should unveil at the end of this month too.
The main camera module in V30 includes an F/1.6 lens (a first for LG), which delivers 25% more light to the sensor compared to an F/1.8 lens.
A bunch of photos of the device and people using it have accidentally leaked. There’s not much left to the imagination.
