Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon’s affair was one of the sensational topics of Bollywood. Akshay and Raveena fell in love while shooting for Mohra in 1994 but started seeing each other in early 1995.
The couple was head over heels in love and secretly got engaged in a temple. However, it was all kept hush-hush because he did not want to lose his female fan following, revealed Raveena in 1999 interview with Stardust.
However things changed while they were shooting for Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi. Rekha’s growing closeness with Akshay Kumar went viral. But Raveena thought it was Rekha who was trying to get close to Akshay.
She said in an interview, “I don’t think Akshay ever had anything to do with Rekha. As a matter of fact, he would run away from her. Akshay tolerated Rekha because of the film. At one point she wanted to get lunch dabbas for him from home. That’s when I put my foot down. I felt it was taking things a bit too far.”
In another interview, Raveena made clear that she knows how to give Rekha a piece of mind if she tries to get closer to Akshay. She said, “If this actress knows that we are together yet gets too close to Akshay, I will get my claws into her. But Akshay knows how to handle the situation I guess.”
But things became worse between them when the rumors of Akshay’s budding romance with Shilpa Shetty started doing rounds. Raveena had had enough and finally they parted ways.
Frustrated with Akshay’s disloyalty, Raveena said in an interview that Akshay was engaged to another lady while he was engaged to her. She went on to say that Akshay proposes to every girl.
